Description:
Steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) has evolved from a specialty material into a practical solution for a wide range of slabs-on-ground, pavements, industrial floors, precast elements, and structural applications. When properly designed and constructed, steel fibers can improve crack control, increase toughness and impact resistance, enhance fatigue performance, and in many applications reduce or replace conventional reinforcing steel, leading to faster construction and lower overall project costs.
This presentation provides a practical overview of steel fiber reinforced concrete, beginning with the fundamentals of how steel fibers work within the concrete matrix and the different types of fibers available. Participants will learn where SFRC is most effectively used, how fiber geometry and dosage influence performance, and how engineers incorporate post-crack residual strength into modern design methods.
Whether you are an engineer, contractor, architect, owner, or concrete producer, this presentation will provide the knowledge needed to confidently evaluate, specify, produce, and construct successful steel fiber reinforced concrete projects while understanding both its capabilities and its limitations.
